The recitation of Psalms- Tehillim- is considered a primary means of obtaining relief from one’s personal tribulations. The timeless phrases contained in the many chapters of Tehillim function alternately as outpourings of sorrow to the One Above and expressions of faith in the ultimate triumph of G-d’s justice. We recite Tehillim daily during both Shacharit and Minchah/ morning and afternoon prayers. When possible, for example on a Shabbaton, lectures are given on the relevance and timeliness of Tehillim.
