KEYBOARDING- GRADE TEN

This course is given to introduce basic touch-typing skills as well as to orient the students to basic typewriting and computer functions. The course culminates with an introduction to PowerPoint, a presentation program which the student may use for classroom project presentation. In addition, the students receive an overview of the use of the Internet. They become aware of the resources available on the Internet and how to access them effectively.

WORD PROCESSING- GRADE ELEVEN

Text: Microsoft Word for Windows
This course introduces the computer novice to the tool bar and progresses to creating and printing documents, document enhancement with various fonts, formats, tables, frames, mail merge etc.

COMPUTER APPLICATIONS- GRADE 12

COMPUTER GRAPHICS

The course is an elective in grades 11 and 12. The course focuses on basic drawing techniques, use of word art, and graphics. Students are taught advanced ways of manipulating graphics to create sophisticated projects.

COLLEGE LEVEL INTRODUCTION TO COMPUTER SCIENCE

This course is a 12th grade elective, taught for college credit. It is a basic programming course taught in Visual Basic covering the set up forms and controls, programming click applications, use of “If… Then” statements, loops, arrays and graphic capabilities of Visual Basic. The course also teaches the history of computer development and how computers process information. Development of the Internet and its uses is also covered.
